What We Do?
BAWCSWS is dedicated to providing proper homes for children, ensuring they receive essential nutrition, a robust educational foundation, vocational training opportunities, recreational activities, and healthcare services. This holistic approach addresses the challenges faced by homeless children in Barrackpore, who often fall into the category of disadvantaged and impoverished individuals.
The Barrackpore area, like many others globally, grapples with a rising population of street children due to economic hardships and other factors. Despite the seemingly simple criteria used to identify children in dire need, the reality of their circumstances remains complex. BAWCSWS focuses its intervention efforts in the Basudevpur and Kamarhati slums, recognizing the urgency of support in these areas. Collaborating closely with governmental stakeholders, BAWCSWS actively implements sensitive and vital programs. Its longstanding commitment to anti-trafficking initiatives, successful rehabilitation endeavors, and extensive awareness campaigns has earned recognition from the government as a responsible civil entity capable of contributing effectively to such programs.
Furthermore, BAWCSWS’s unwavering dedication to women’s empowerment, Peace building and positive societal development has led to its designation as a government service provider. The organization serves as a mediator for women affected by domestic violence, partnering with the Barrackpore police commissioner to offer support and assistance. Engaging proactively in relief efforts during natural disasters, BAWCSWS demonstrates its ongoing commitment to serving society and alleviating the suffering of those in need.
